I’m not your baby, Sprint/Nextel lady.

June 29, 2007

A telemarketer from Sprint just called me, very “excited” about how much money we can save by converting our Nextel service to Sprint. Sounds great, I look good when I save the company money. As we were hanging up, she signed off by saying “Thank you, baby.”

I’m sure she just said it out of force of habit since she probably always calls her husband or kids that, but I couldn’t help but snicker after I hung up. Not that I’m any better, I’ve had to stop myself from calling my coworkers “hon” before.

That’s so funny. I’m so self concious about saying “love you” to anyone on the phone.

Uuuuhhhhhh, Sprint and Nextel are the same company.
    (Hence the name Sprint-Nextel ;) )
You’re not saving money unless you decide to drop Direct Connect.

Yeah, I know they’re the same company. She wanted me to switch our Nextel service to Sprint though, and I think dropping Direct Connect was part of how it was going to save us money. I do remember that the deal fell apart when I told her all of our users had BlackBerry data plans.
